 Project Description: Prior to Ikhayalami's intervention, Ithemba Creche was housed in a poorly constructed shack structure.  With help from the owners, this structure was cleared out and Ikhayalami built a two-room structure from scratch.  This newly upgraded structure has a veranda and playground out front.

  • Provide a place of safety, health and learning for the vulnerable and disadvantaged children at Ithemba  
  • Continue our project of upgrading as many creches in informal settlements in Cape Town as possible    
• Impact:
  • Created a place of safety for vulnerable children in Samora Machel Informal Settlement 
  • Vastly improved the standard of health for all the children attending the creche
